Originally built in 1798 as a wedding gift, The Gadsden House brings more than two centuries of history into a setting that feels graceful, private, and distinctly Charleston.
Inside, four interconnected parlors feature original heart pine floors, tall windows, restored fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers against crisp neutral walls. Two story piazzas with gas lanterns and haint blue ceilings overlook three courtyards finished in bluestone, Charleston brick, and oyster tabby, with magnolias, crepe myrtles, and palmettos adding layers of Lowcountry greenery.
Couples can exchange vows in the garden before gathering for cocktails along the shaded piazzas, then move into the parlors or a tented courtyard for dinner and dancing. Private preparation suites allow the wedding party to settle in for the day, while the flexible indoor and outdoor layout gives each part of the celebration its own setting.
